Colt USA - The Kids!

Pg 1, 2, 3, 4
Let
Let came to COLT after one of the COLT staff members Mr. Dara saw him in his home town of Battambang. He has two sisters and a brother. As Let's father had no land nor a job his mother went to Thailand to find work but died there. Let's father is an alcoholic and sold his two daughters for $10 each for the sex trade. Let was given shelter by a neighbor. The neighbor was poor and could not afford to give Let proper education or nutrition He was taken to COLT by the above mentioned staff member where he has been since December of 2007. He misses his family very much but no one is there to visit him. He likes being at COLT because he has the possibility for learning. Before he came to COLT he was in 3rd Grade and now is still in 3rd Grade and is doing very well. His favorite subject is English but he does not like social studies. When he gets older he says he would like to be a teacher. Let is a gentle boy who gets along with all the other children, and rarely fights. Let, like many boys can be lazy and his English is very basic.

Peanuth
Peanuth has one brother and one sister and comes from a family who cannot afford to keep him. Currently he is in 5th Grade, the same grade as other COLT children  (Sreymom, Sreypich, Dalin,Tree and Vanna) however he is the first in his class of 31 at the local school. Peanuth wants to be a doctor when he grows up, quite an ambition for a child at COLT. He is a very intelligent, gentle and caring boy. He is very social and polite to everyone, children and staff alike. He works hard for the school results he gets. He arises early, is very clean, does his homework and gets the best school results. He is the model COLT child. He is very mature and takes all the advice and criticism that the COLT staff gives him. The reason he like COLT is the educational possibilities, his friends and the organization. Like most of the COLT children he is afraid of ghosts.
