| Srey Mo and her sister Srey Mom have liver at COLT for 4 years now ever since her father died from HIV/AIDS. The mother has been unable to care for the children and they were given to COLT. Before the father died he used to burn both the daughters with cigarettes on their arms and legs. Because of that physical and mental trauma both children have had difficulty dealing with men at COLT. When Dr. Renner attempted to do needed dental work several years ago Srey Mo would not allow him to perform the dental procedures because she was afraid of what heI would do to her. It took us three years before she trusted us to remove some badly infected teeth this year. Srey Mo likes COLT because her sister and all her friends are here and she likes the COLT staff. Srey Mo is very talkative lively and funny. Sometime she gets into fights with the other children but she stands up for herself but she is fighting less and less as she gets to know the other children better now. She is a natural born leader, likes to instruct the other children how to do things and she enjoys skipping. In her school class she is clever, confident and her English is improving day by day. She says when she grows up she wishes to be a doctor. |
